Providing practical support to those in need, restoring dignity and hope.
Across the UK, millions of people are living in poverty. In Hull and East Yorkshire, the situation is particularly acute, with many families forced to choose between heating and eating. According to recent data, food bank usage has surged, and thousands of children go to bed hungry each night.
At Christ The Redeemer Ministries UK, we believe that poverty is not just a statistic—it represents real people facing real struggles. Guided by our charitable object to prevent and relieve poverty, we have established evidence-based initiatives that provide immediate relief while addressing root causes through advocacy and education.
We work with GPs, social services, schools, and other agencies to ensure our support reaches those who genuinely need it. Referrals help us understand each person's situation and provide targeted assistance while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
We operate a food distribution program providing emergency three-day food parcels to families and individuals in Hull. Each parcel is carefully assembled to include nutritionally balanced items, catering to dietary requirements and cultural preferences where possible.
We collect and distribute clean, good-quality clothing for all ages, as well as bedding, towels, and other household essentials. This service is particularly vital for families fleeing domestic violence, refugees, or those who have experienced house fires.
Poverty is complex and multifaceted. We provide signposting to professional services for debt management, housing advice, and employment support. Our volunteers are trained to listen with compassion and connect people with the appropriate resources.

Our poverty relief work depends entirely on the dedication of our volunteers. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or want to get involved in organizing events, there's a role for you.
All volunteers receive an induction, ongoing training, and access to support. We conduct DBS checks where appropriate and provide clear role descriptions so you know exactly what's involved.
The demand for our services is higher than ever. Your donation can put a meal on a table or keep a family warm this winter.
